READ MOREKakizome Calligraphy Workshop with JETAA NSW and Ohaku
Kick off the New Year with a meaningful experience by merging tradition and intention!
In this interactive workshop, participants will create their own New Year resolutions in the form of beautiful Japanese calligraphy artwork. Led by Ohaku, a master of Japanese calligraphy, this session is designed to help you reflect on your aspirations for 2025 while exploring the artistry and mindfulness of calligraphy.
No prior experience is needed—just bring your creativity and an open mind!
When: From 1pm, Saturday 18 January 2025
Where: The Japan Foundation, Sydney (Level 4, Central Park, 28 Broadway CHIPPENDALE)
What to Expect:
A brief introduction to the fundamentals of Japanese calligraphy and its cultural significance.
Guidance on selecting a meaningful kanji or phrase that represents each participant’s resolution.
Step-by-step instructions to create a polished calligraphy piece using traditional brush strokes and techniques.
A calm and focused space to immerse in the art form and cultivate mindfulness.
